How does Vaniqa work?
Vaniqa interferes with an enzyme found in the hair follicle of skin. This enzyme is used in the metabolism of hair and is a necessary component for its growth. This slows down hair growth improving the appearance of the area where Vaniqa is used.
How effective is Vaniqa?
Studies showed that improvement in unwanted facial hair was seen in approximately sixty percent of all patients after 6 months of use. Overall, Vaniqa statistically significantly reduced the number of patients bothered by their facial hair and by the time spent removing, treating, or concealing facial hair.
How to apply Vaniqa:
Vaniqa should be applied twice daily at least 8 hours apart. Apply a thin layer of to the effected areas of the face and adjacent involved areas under the chin and rub in thoroughly. You should not wash the treated areas for at least four hours after an application.
Side Effects:
Vaniqa may cause temporary redness, rash, itching, burning or tingling at the site of application. If this happens for a brief period of time the medicine can be continued. If symptoms persist discontinue use.
Cautions:
Do
not use Vaniqa if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. No studies have
been performed to date on the safety of this medicine in pregnant women.
